UXcamp Europe 2011 Country Ambassadors

We want this UXcamp to represent the breadth of Europe and the diversity of the global UX scene. But because we are not so famous that everyone everywhere knows us (although that would be nice!) we are inviting Country Ambassadors to join in and help spread the word about the event and make sure we are covering as much as we can.

Your Country is not listed yet?

Please read on and get in touch with us. In case you do not want to be ambassador yourself, think who might be and ask them!

Who are you?

You are working in the field of User Experience/Interaction Design/Visual Design/Usability or similar. You live in a European Country and you will be available to attend UX Camp in Berlin in June 2011.

What we ask you to do?

We want you to help spread the word in your country and your UX Community about our event. In order to do this we ask for the following:

  • You will create a profile on our Mixxt site and allow it to be listed as a Country Ambassador.
  • You will be responsible for promoting the event, providing some basic details to anyone who asks (e.g. where it is, when it is).
  • You will encourage people to join our Mixxt site to register their interest for the event and create their own profiles.
  • You will help drive and take part in discussions and commentary on the Mixxt site as well as consider running a session at the event itself.
  • Help us recruit volunteers to help running the event on the day.

Other things you may want to help with, but you don’t have to:

  • Introduce sponsors who want to get involved
  • Prepare some logistics information for your community, such as travel suggestions, accommodation, or group plans

What we won’t ask you to do?

  • We will not ask you to help organise the event itself (we have a team doing that)
  • We will not expect you to be responsible for the attendees from your country, each person will manage their own experience using the Mixxt site
  • We will not expect you to handle ticket allocation, we will handle all of that centrally.

We will only need a couple of ambassadors per country so we’ll be doing this on a first come first serve basis. If this all sounds feasible to you, why not get involved by emailing to orga (at) uxcampeurope.org and put ‘Country Ambassador’ in the title.

Oh and lest we forget, if you are not from a European country but would like to attend, we would be more than happy to have you. Simply sign up to the Mixxt site and you will be in the running for a place.
